What is life except an opportunity—an opportunity to become who we truly can become? “A flame of fire” is how an unknown author put it within a letter written during the first century AD. This letter is titled, “the Book of Hebrew” within Holy Writ. Who would not want to be seen as “a flame,” one who brings light, warmth and serves in exceedingly good ways?
The globe we live on is a place of trial and error, holding the greatest of all opportunity, a time and a place to grow and to learn how to be that “flame of fire,” a power source holding light and warmth. We are also life-bearers. And, it is overcoming our hardships that give us strength once we arise from them.
God, our Creator, has layered life with truth, throughout Holy Writ, making clear what is justice and what is not just. It is living a just life that allows the oil of gladness to flow for both self and others.
And, love is a flame! We comfort others through the warmth of our light. In return there is a great sense of fulfillment, peace and joy. Our presence holds strength and we become “comforters” to others, covering them through extending ourselves toward their needs. Alongside that, healthy self-care is our best bet for a long, vital life.
