In reply to Cheryl Kitchens. Chery, I find journaling to be a great help in listening to God. I first write what concerns me and ask God to guide on the matter. Then, when a word or two comes to mind, I write those words on the page. Lo and behold other words flow through rather quickly. This method has helped me at many junctions in life. I don't journal every day, but I do journal often and particularly on my dreams so God can help me understand them. Thank you, once again, for your kind words of encouragement. Many blessings to you! So true, Joy! What a good reminder! I’m thinking of how I “rise above” when I’m in my prayer chair practicing the presence of Jesus. Choosing to be one with Jesus, as He chooses to be one with me, sets me on higher heights.

My spirit is lifted, Joy! As I read this beautiful piece, filled with metaphor, I’m grateful that you have written your insights down to share again with us.
As, I struggle with yet another heavy life change, my prayers become longer and longer, with gratitude, prayers for loved ones, the homeless, the planet, the government, then my life- path, at a crossroads. All allowing God to carry my burdens, and to do His will. It’s the listening part that needs to be longer- I tend to seek input from media sources(health, science and spiritual teachings) always want to learn, but waiting on the Lord to speak to my heart could surely use more quiet time.
